The taskbar that is normally at the bottom of the screen in Windows 10 provides quick access to a variety of tools. But you might be wondering how to move the taskbar to the top of the screen in Windows 10 if you have seen someone else with that setup.

You have some control over the way that the Windows interface is laid out, and one of the options available involves the location of the taskbar.

While it is usually at the bottom of the screen by default, you can elect to move it to the left, right, or even the top of the screen.

How to Change the Windows 10 Taskbar Location

The steps in this article were performed on a Windows 10 laptop, but will work on desktops as well.

Step 1: Locate the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, then right-click on it.

Step 2: Select the Taskbar settings option at the bottom of the right-click menu.

Step 4: Choose the Top option.

The taskbar location will change immediately, allowing you to see how it looks when it’s at the top of the screen. As you can see you also have the ability to put the taskbar on the left or right side of the screen.
